About The Author
After 31 years of service with Canadian National Railway, Janet Lewis Anderson retired in 2003 to stay home and look after her dying Mother. Since her Mother’s passing, Janet keeps active through her many associations and volunteer activities. She is an active member of Sphinx Temple No. 116 Daughters of the Nile serving as Queen in 1996, and is also a member of the Khartum Shrine Ladies Auxiliary. Both organizations are part of the Masonic Family and are proud of their long support of the Shriners Hospital for Children. She is a Past Vice-President of the Scleroderma Association of Manitoba and currently sits on the Board of Manitoba Lyme & Tick-Borne Illnesses..
Since retiring, Janet has retained her railway affiliations by becoming involved with the CN Pensioners Association of Manitoba. Having become a bit of a “web hobbyist”, she enjoys her role on the Executive as Webmaster for their local association’s website, www.cnpensioners.ca. Janet is also honoured to have served as Director on the National Council for over 9 years, plus an additional 3 years as Communications Officer / National Newsletter Editor of the National Council of CN Pensioners.
Marrying a year after her Mother passed away, Janet and her husband continue to reside in Winnipeg. They enjoy family get-togethers, cooking and travelling - especially cruising.
